"Think!"
Youth Exchange

Critical thinking is an essential skill of smart life in modern society, and skepticism is a vital position for a waking person of the 21st century. Unfortunately, most young people cannot evaluate and use either. As a result, they suffer from numerous mistakes throughout their life, such as loss of time and energy, loss of dignity, waste of money or something even worse. Too many people believe, trust, buy, invest, join, or emotionally give up at the wrong time.

Participants of the youth exchange « Think! » got acquainted with the main statistical methods, probabilities, and scientific methods, cognitive psychology, and concepts of cost-benefit analysis for the aim to develop the critical thinking of young people. They were introduced to how this knowledge can be applied in everyday life, starting with the ability to choose the right product, up to the ability to criticize scientific research. Examples from different countries were discussed. This knowledge will be transferred through the creation of a friendly and vibrant environment.

Activities included informal teaching methods (seminars, speeches, workshops, Icebreakers, round tables, outdoor activities, etc.) to meet the different needs and desired outcomes of participants. During the project, participants were using modern technology as a tool to distinguish reliable sources of information from unreliable. An 8-day training process, various skills, and knowledge were acquired that allowed participants to plan and save more time, improve decision-making processes, improve communication and argumentation.
