«Let`s Dance!»

Youth Exchange

This youth exchange is aimed to use the dance as a tool to lead young people through the exciting intercultural experience.

During the planned workshops, organized by youth leaders, an experienced choreographers (dance teachers, organizers of GC Battle festival etc …) and with the help of young people themselves, the participants got basic knowledge of existing dance styles, history of dance , similarities and differences in folk  dances, were able to compare the typical dances of their countries, of course practicing them themselves, as well as various styles, and all that  resulted in one dance performance that was shown in a form of a flash mob to the public, and we prepared a video with the presentation of this project that was served as a dissemination tool afterwards.

The key aspect that was going as a red line throughout the project was a « Europen Move » that young people thought of themselves, and the idea is to spread it and to make go viral through the Internet (similar to the example of the video  » Where the hell is Matt? « That used to be highly popular. Young people spread through this message of European values and its notion of all different, all equal. The project developed the creativity, the innovation and the expression of the young people as well as it allowed to discover and to investigate the similarities and the differences between the cultures and also through that helped to contribute to the fight against the prejudices and the stereotypes.
